Then came a Viking

Don't ya just love it when totally unplanned characters come walking into your book? C.S. Harris, http://csharris.blogspot.com/, was blogging about twists yesterday. She was putting together a list of the most common types of twists that can happen. It had me thinking. Then Anna Lucia on her blog, http://anna-lucia.blogspot.com/, spoke about "What's hidden from view is not as dangerous as what is in plain sight."

One of the key critiques from H. Johnson on August Rock was that August Rock didn't have enough twists. The plot was to too evenly paced. So C. S.'s comments and Anna's hit the spot. I don't think this will be a problem with A Cornish House. Especially now that Gunnar the Viking was waltzed in to divert Madde. We shall see.

The words have been flowing pretty well this week. Over 3000 yesterday alone. Currently it's standing at 35,138. I may just make my goal of 40,000 by the end of February and then again I may just beat it!

OMG you are such a star!

I should be marking ... but I'm here! I'm thinking so much about one of my characters and I can't wait to start writing again next week. I am so excited. 6 more days and then I can write and race and and .... bugger! back to marking!

Interesting post Liz ~ I'm currently a bit stalled with my plot progression and I think I maybe don't have enough actually happening! Time to devise a few twists, i think.

Good luck! You can always borrow the Viking!

Awesome work, Liz. The rest of my life got in the way yesterday so I didn't get any writing work accomplished. You'll be well past your goal if you keep on this way. Good for you.

I think I may be a little burnt out as today I haven't managed 500 yet......maybe it's the snow here today. To easy to look out the window and dream!

I think we should all have Vikings - I want one, too!

You are just cruising along, Liz, I'm dead impressed (and only a tiny bit jealous)! I'm feeling a bit stuck today - plodding, I think the word is!

Today is a plodding day I think. I am lacking focus but have just started a chapter with the Viking and maybe this will bring a zing of words!
