Caroline Smailes - Black Boxes

Finally I feel like I am catching up - catching up with writing, the blog world and just about everything in general. This is good indeed.

In the process of catching up I realized I have missed so much. Blog Friend and fellow Novel Racer Caroline Smailes has a new book out this month. Some may remember her first book, In Search of Adam, and if you read it you will never forget it. My review is here. I look forward to Black Boxes knowing it will probably rip me apart inside yet build me back up by Caroline's powerful writing. Time will tell but in the interim she with help of Stray have launched the most fun widget.......you could spend all the hours of your day, believe me.......

Two other bits to go with this.....one part of the widget allows you to ask your own question. Well, what came out of me I realize just may lie at the heart of my wip. Time will tell....

Finally if I can work things properly, i will be able to attend the launch in London of Black Boxes and I can't tell you how excited that makes me. I just need to line up all the dots to make it work. Keep your fingers crossed for me and let me know if you become addicted to the widget.

WIP - current word count 2100

Oh thank you! I look forward to meeting you at the launch. There are going to be a few of us NRs there now! Friendly faces to stop me from being quite so terrified!

Hi Liz, Glad it is all coming together for you. I shall have to go and explore the widget thingy as I have no idea what a widget is!!!!

I wish I felt as though I were caught up! At the moment, it's the opposite. Have fun at the launch. And what exactly happens at a London launch?

Any vestige of productivity is plummeting, as Stray's Black Box widget madness takes over!

Thanks for hoping in!

Thanks for visiting my place and for your nice comment!

About the pear preserves...the pears I used were very ripe and extra juicy, so no liquid involved.

Novice the widget is totally addictive. i won't own up to how long I followed it 'round the web last night!!!

JJ - I will raise a glass of something for on the occaission. I so wanted to make to the launch of ISoA but the timing was too so this time I fly in from Dubai at 2 so it should work as long as sil will have us for the night :-)

Diana, you will need to check out the book and we all know the widget is amazing - enjoy your weekend too :-)

Flowerpot it feels so good to be writing something knew. Of course the crows of doubt keep trying to creep in at the moment but I am pushing them away!

Barrie, the launches I have been to have been a ball to be honest as I knew enough people at them that it was more like a party of friends. I suspect at this one I will know only a few faces....but books will bought and signewd and usually there will plenty of terrible wine which will consumed anyway. It's a great chance to be with other writers and people who are keen readers - heaven really :-)

McB - had I spent the time writing last night that I did black boxing I would have had at least another 2000 words - but maybe not quite so much fun!

Welcome, welcome Trousers. lovely to see you here.

Willow, welcome. I think my pears will be too dry to cook without some liquid. I will try a bit of water unless you have another suggestion.

So, that question you came up with, Liz - would that be the "dagger or gun" one, or the Milk chocolate or dark chocolate?

(Yup, I've got addicted too - can you tell?)

Ah, wait a minute, knowing your writing, I bet it's the "Hold On or Let Go" one.

Jan you haven't got it yet. You must keep trying!!!!
