I couldn't hold back any longer......I wrote the first 144 words of the new novel. I just couldn't stop myself. I was editing
August Rock and my eyes were tired so I closed them for twenty minutes and realized in light sleep that I was thinking about the new story. Boom woke up and had the beginning just had to put it onto paper. I am a lost soul aren't I?
Yay!!! Go for it, go for it, go for it!
ReplyDeleteYou are not a lost soul, you are a WRITER!
Well done Liz. I've done exactly that and it's a wonderful feeling. Woosh and you're off. go girl go!
ReplyDeleteGood for you :) It's always good to have another on the go.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jan :-)
ReplyDeleteGood for you Flowerpot. Hopefully we change exchange thoughts in person soon......
Well, I suppose it is as the other two are in revision Rachel :-)
Hooray! I love a new story. I don't think you're a lost soul. Like Jan said, you're a writer. Write the new one in between editing. =o)
ReplyDeleteI think you should write whatever you like. Writing should be enjoyable, and not a constant edit!
ReplyDeleteI have just started writing early for NaNoWriMo after nearly a year of editing and its an amazing feeling!
Go for it!

No, no! If the words are in there, you have to let them out.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't write them down while they're willing, they tend to take offence and go off in a huff.
Much better to catch them while you can, rather than scrabble for the dregs later on!
I fully share your excitement... have fun with it!!

Brilliant, you mustn't stifle your creative instincts, if the words are there then let them flow. It may well help with the edit of August Rock to have fresh ideas washing around.
ReplyDeleteI'm thrilled you've let rip on new novel:-) That's why you're a writer!
