I always do the right-click and the synonyms thing on Word, even though it sometimes misunderstands what I am trying to do...Amy Appletonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00582470385507427647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34330113.post-75142663093871228612008-03-31T06:17:00.000+01:002008-03-31T06:17:00.000+01:00Jan - it is just such a switch for me!Annie, the E...Jan - it is just such a switch for me!

Annie, the English languae is so veristle - one can get totally lost.....

Michelle, I like the sound of a flip dictionary! It's only when I reread I think I have a one word mind! I think all writing at the moment is pushing towards simple and direct as that is what the market/reader wants :-)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02744937536946299450noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34330113.post-82324019968186219372008-03-30T18:01:00.000+01:002008-03-30T18:01:00.000+01:00I think you're right to focus on the story. I try to avoid repeating the same word too soon if I can help it and sometimes I need to. That's when I have to think about my words. Otherwise, I try to use whatever word expresses what I want to say in the simplest and most direct way. I think that style suits my genre (crime fiction). It would not be right for every kind of writing.
LeighLeigh Russellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15080517449825380527noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34330113.post-26646934464646373652008-03-29T16:27:00.000+00:002008-03-29T16:27:00.000+00:00You should get a flip dictionary or a word menu. It is always how can I make this more? How can I give it the greatest impact?
